Project Details
The ice ball mold was a collaborative project with a handful of students when I was teaching. It was designed and programmed in Mastercam. The guide pins were a purchased item. The mold is machined from Aluminum on a Haas TL-1 lathe and a Haas TM-1 Mill. The tray at the bottom is used to catch water runoff. An ice ball can be formed in about 30 seconds simply by gravity.
