Project Details

1908 Packard Trans Axle. On this Motor Car the transmission and rear pinion were incorporated into one assembly . Forward and reverse were set by the placement of levers , which unfortunately both can be set at the same time , resulting in catastrophic failure . Of all the projects I have undertaken , I am most proud of this one. This is probably the most difficult project I have taken on . All dimensions were reverse engineered from a shattered original part , as there are no longer any part prints available . this project took me approximately 320 hours to complete.
